Obituary notes for Ervin Lawrence Price
The Mass of Christian Burial for Ervin Price of Wadena will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday January 12, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Wadena with Father Aaron Kuhn as celebrant.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Parish Hall with Prayers at 6:00 p.m. and a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Ervin, age 86, passed away on January 4, 2024, at Like Mother Like Daughter in New York Mills, MN.
Ervin was born to John and Agnes (Stoderl) Price on October 28 1937, in Bluffton, MN. He attended St. Johns School in Bluffton, MN.
On June 16, 1959, Ervin married Rita Regina Wegscheid at St. Johns Catholic Church in Bluffton. They purchased a farm north of Wadena, where they worked tirelessly for 60 years dairy farming and raising their family. Ervin also enjoyed playing cards, camping, deer hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and birdwatching. He was a member of the Wadena VFW and was a Leaf River Township Fire Warden for 40 years. He also worked for Coast to Coast, Northwest Builders, Leaf River Ag, Fleet Supply and Tri-County Health Care. He and Rita also volunteered at the Wadena County Food Shelf.
Preceding Ervin in death were his wife, Rita; parents, John and Agnes. As well as, sisters-in-law Bernice Wegscheid, Bernice Wirth, Sharon VanWatermulen and brothers-in-law, Donald Wegscheid and Roger Wirth.
Memories of Ervin will always remain with his children, Karen (Keith) Goeller of Bluffton, Duane (Sue) Price of Motley, Linda (Mark) Lien of Otsego, Rick (Tracy) Price of Wadena, Steve (Sherry) Price of Moorhead and Randy (Angie) Price of Detroit Lakes. As well as 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; along with siblings: Ken (Joyce) Price, Donna (Robert) Haman and Robert (Diane) Price.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Wadena, MN at a later date.

Rita was born to Eugene and Kathryn (Beringer) Wegscheid on August 5, 1939, in Bluffton, MN. She attended St. Johns Elementary School in Bluffton and graduated from St. Francis High School in Little Falls.
Rita married Ervin Lawrence Price on June 16, 1959, at St. Johns Catholic Church in Bluffton, MN. They made their home on a farm north of Wadena for 60 years where they raised their family. During this time, she also worked as a cook at Wadena Public Elementary & High Schools. She enjoyed gardening, baking, camping, fishing, and most of all spending time with family. Rita was a member of Christian Mothers, Leaf River Sew N Sews, and the Wadena VFW Auxiliary. She also found volunteering at Tri-County Health Care and Wadena County Food Shelf enjoyable and rewarding.
