Obituary notes for Anthony (Tony) Martin Beringer
Anthony Martin “Tony” Beringer 58, of Willmar, died on July 30, 2006, at Rice Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 2, 1947, in Wadena, the son of Ambrose Adam and Hildegard Clara (Wegscheid) Beringer. He grew up in the Bluffton and Wadena areas where he attended his schooling.
On July 7, 1968, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Craite at Detroit. This union was blessed with two daughters. They lived in International Falls where he worked for Boise Cascade, later moving to New York Mills where they farmed and raised turkeys, moving to Willmar in 1979 where they farmed and raised turkeys, for Willmar Poultry. He also drove for Donnelly Trucking for the past several years.
On June 24, 1989, he was united in marriage to Cyndee Thompson in Willmar. She preceded him in death in 1994.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles AERIE 2334, Willmar at the time of his death.
His family recalls the enjoyment he received from farming and raising turkeys and sheep. He led a simple life, never asking or wanting to be a burden to others. One of his greatest joys was driving his red and white semi truck. As the children were growing, Sunday was a family day. They also recall the fun they had going camping together. He liked to play Tetris and watch Monday night wrestling. These past months, his grandson, Levi, enjoyed sitting up next to him, watching wrestling together.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. Friends may call from noon until time of service at the church. Harvey Anderson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Survivors include his daughters, Lisa (and Jerry) Carlson, Willmar, and Crystal (and Kyle) Goosmann, Willmar; five grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers, Barb (and Chuck) Morrison, Detroit Lakes, Mary (and Pete) Peterson, Merrifield, Rosie Altstad, Perham, Alice (and Harvey) Kemper, Dassel, John (and Anita) Beringer, Bluffton, Fran (and Lisa) Beringer, Maple Grove; and special friends Cheryl Peterson and Linda Leaks.
