John and Susan (Jochim) Beringer, came to the USA from Luxemburg, Germany after they were married. They had 3 or 4 children in Germany that traveled with them. While on the boat they met a family. The parents both died on the boat and left an orphaned child named Kate. John and Susan took in Kate and adopted her in the USA. John and Susan had 4 more children in the USA. Kate had a child named Louise. Kathryn Louise Beringer was named after Kate’s daughter Louise.
